The FPA’s Best Practice Awards recognise the superior outcomes for clients when professional financial planning expertise is provided in line with the FPA Code of Professional Practice and Code of Ethics.
Through the Awards, 'best practice' advice is publicly acknowledged for CFP® professionals and Financial Planner AFP® practitioners. In conjunction with Future2, a third award category recognises those FPA members who have made an outstanding contribution to the wider community.
FPA Best Practice Awards are awarded in the following categories:
To reward the National Winners in the FPA Best Practice Awards 2012, winners may choose from the following prizes:
The choice is yours. Both prizes are designed to recognise your success, add value to your clients and help you build your business.
The National Winner may choose to receive an exclusive opportunity for the FPA to run a client celebration/information event on behalf of the winner. The FPA will work closely with the winner to design an event that suits their preferences e.g. a seminar with a guest speaker presenting on a topic relevant and interesting to clients, or an exclusive dinner for a key clients and staff, or a client function with the FPA CEO or Chair present to acknowledge the achievements of the planner. The event will be held at a venue in the planner’s local area. A maximum of $5,000 will be contributed by the FPA to the event. OR
Alternatively the winner may choose to attend an FPA approved professional development event/s in 2013 and be rewarded with up to $5,000 from the FPA towards this e.g. FPA Congress in Australia, FPA USA Conference, IFPHK Financial Planning Conference in Hong Kong, IFP Conference in the UK, SPAA National Conference, CPA Congress etc.
The National Winner prize must be redeemed by 31 December 2013.
All elements of the prizes are subject to availability and approval by the FPA, non transferable and there are no cash alternatives.
Events may occur that render the awarding of the prize/s impossible due to reasons beyond the control of the FPA and accordingly the FPA may at its absolute discretion vary or amend the promotion and the entrant agrees that no liability shall attach to the FPA as a result thereof.

The Distinguished Service Award (DSA) recognises exceptional contribution to the work of the FPA and the common good of the profession through voluntary service to FPA Chapters, Committees or taskforces.
The Fellow Award recognises those that have made an outstanding and selfless contribution to the profession and the community. Award recipients will have demonstrated leadership and will command the respect of peers as exemplary role models.
